I currently teach research methods and supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s research projects. I also provide academic support to all students at Bloomsbury as part of our Learning Enhancement team. As Academic Lead for Research, I co-organise our Research Forum sessions, and I’m a member of our Research Ethics Committee.
Before joining Bloomsbury Institute London in 2021, I spent several years teaching Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods, Critical Thinking, Research Proposal Development, and English for Academic Purposes to university foundation year students at the pre-undergraduate, pre-Master’s and pre-PhD levels. I also taught pre-sessional programmes at the University of Essex, King’s College London and the University of Sheffield. Overall, I have been working in language education since 2002, as a teacher, academic manager and director of studies.
Interests
My interests include corpus linguistics, natural language processing, spoken performance, and the intricacies of how human memory works (in particular the biological processes of it). I’m an avid reader: apart from my favourite writers, George Orwell and Witold Gombrowicz, I love reading about history, sociology of religion, and evolutionary psychology. I’m interested in all kinds of art – especially music and drama. I also continuously strive to enhance my IT skills and my understanding of statistical research.
