UK Student Loan covers

UK student loans are available to all domestic students regardless of age. Maintenance loans are also available for eligible students. Loans are repaid only when you earn above the repayment threshold.

Student Finance

Apply for Student Finance as early as possible — ideally before you enrol. You can apply before you have a confirmed place. The deadline is typically 9 months after the start of your academic year.

Bursaries & additional support

Household Income Bursary

Available to eligible students with a household income below a certain threshold. Contact SEWS for details.

Childcare Grant

From October 2025 — covers up to 85% of childcare costs for eligible students with dependants. See the Family Support page.

Paying your fees

If you're not paying via Student Finance, you can pay your tuition fees in instalments via a payment plan. Contact the Finance team to set this up before enrolment.
